Have you ever tried sleeping with a broken heart?
If youre dealing with a broken heart this holiday season I have a few remedies I would like to suggest. I highly recommend reading Iyanla Vanzant's " In the Meantime: Finding Yourself and the Love You Want", and watching " Eat,Pray, Love: with Julia Roberts now streaming on Hulu. If you cant travel anywhere due to the pandemic or finances I suggest finding a travel blog, learning another language, or following travel accounts on Instagram. Music is also very important when youre healing a broken heart. The last time I was going through a transformative healing experience Rihanna had just released " Rated R" and Sade released " Soldier of Love" shortly after. I would blast Rated R while cleaning the house. I would put on Soldier of Love on repeat or listen to Sade Pandora while sleeping. I also highly recommend a deep artistic or spiritual practice such as yoga, dancing, burning incense and candles, giving offerings on a monthly moon basis, making a vision board, and coloring or painting. Writing is also artistic and very cathartic and you should keep a journal to document your healing journey. Food and art are very healing. Dont sit on the couch eating comfort food all day, but in the same breathe dont hesitate to order pizza and wings and have a movie night. Try to go to a musical, play, art exhibit, or dance performance to help transmute your pain into inspiration. Give yourself space to feel all of your emotions. Cry as much as you need to, reminisce on moments that made you happy, write angry love letters when you feel pissed. Then let it go. Take steps everyday towards becoming a more whole, healed, individual that is now focused on creating a brighter future. Healing a broken heart is no easy feat, but when you do the work you will be rewarded tenfold. If you have no one to love you this holiday season know that I love you, and will always be a source of support leading you to shine your light like a diamond. Happy Holidays!
