Women, Religion, and Liberation

People are changing. One of the most beautiful things about the past five years is the lingering hint of liberation in the air. This concept that the world is ending has catapulted us into the radii of love, enlightenment, and consciousness. People are ready to be free. Gone are the days where people stuff themselves into the constricts of society's standards, beliefs, rules, and mindsets. People are creating, fashioning, and manifesting their art and life to complement their own unadulterated ingenuity. ive witnessed this internal shift in myself and my loved ones. As a whole I feel like were thinking less, feeling more, judging less, and loving more. People are ready to stop being scared to examine themselves on a spiritual level and sift through all the bullshit that clouds their true reflection. People are ready to breathe, heal, and fly but not at the expense of another human being. People are ready for God which brings me to todays post on women, religion, and liberation. Tina Turner is one woman whom I think personifies this topic to its full capacity. After being a victim of domestic violence for many years the shock heard around the world was when she was heard chanting her Buddhist chant. Tina turned to religion to gain a sense of clarity and refuge from her situation. My favorite part of the " Whats Love Got to do With It?" is at the end where Tina just performed and shes standing there sweat flinging and shouting like a million shackles have been taken off from her. I know that feeling. Buddhism is " a religion of eastern central Asia growing out of the teachings of Guatama Buddha that suffering is inherent in life and that one can be liberated from it by mental and moral self-purification". Self- purification is my favorite part of that definition. I love looking at my timeline and seeing tweets about people going to church, the Hindu temple, or simply meditating. It doesn't matter whether youre Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, or Jew. The closer you get to a higher power in the Universe the closer you get to the highest version of yourself which inevitably brings you closer to freedom. Freedom, in my opinion, is what life should be all about. See your life in color and paint outside the lines.
